Dwight D. Eisenhower or "Ike" had graduated from West Point Military Academy and led a distinguished military career. He was a five-star General in the United States Army and served as Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces in Europe during World War II. After retiring from active military service, he ran for President and was elected for two terms 1953-61.
