Elongated Cent souvenir from the 1933 Century of Progress Exposition at Chicago. Rolled on an 1863 Copper Nickel Indian Cent, highly unusual host coin for this late a date. I presume that the 1863 Cent was used in this case as a celebration of 70 years between the issuance of the coin, and the date of the event. M&D-46, CoP Travel Building, certified NGC MS-65, and by current definition, unique on this host coin. A portion of the design is missing, likely due to the hardness of the coin alloy making getting this through the rolling mill a bit difficult. Otherwise bright and damage free. Housed in the oversized NGC "tombstone" holder, this will be shipped in the custom shipping box as shown in the last image. One other example of the M&D-46 design certified, on a Bronze Cent (the date not indicated in the NGC Census but assumed to be a Lincoln Cent). Please Note: for reasons that escape me, if you search for this cert # on the NGC site, it will not come up (as of 6/4/24). However, I absolutely guarantee that this is kosher, as I submitted the piece myself - NGC split this item off one of my submissions and certified it on a different invoice, so the problem may be their bookkeeping. One recent ebay listing of a similar elongate on an 1863 Cent, from the 1901 Pan-American Exposition. The example offered here I would judge to be rarer due to the late use of a Civil War era coin for a planchet. This is not from the same source, coming out of an old collection where it was hiding for 50 years or better. Value is speculative of course, as for any unique item, so a Make an Offer option has been added to this listing - however I will probably not entertain offers until this has been listed for a while, to allow a reasonable number of views. Due to value this will require Insured Priority shipping with Signature Confirmation, hence the S&H shown.

This seller has enabled "Manual Invoice Approval" on their account. This means that after you complete checkout, you will NOT be automatically redirected to PayPal (if applicable) and will not be able to complete payment immediately. Instead, the seller will review the invoice and may, or may not, add or subtract additional charges, as explained in their policies and/or listing description. When the invoice is updated and approved by the seller, you will receive an automated email notification later, and you will be able to pay the updated invoice as you would normally.
All checks must clear prior to payment of purchase, which may take up to 12 Business days. IF YOU CHOOSE TO PURCHASE MULTIPLE ITEMS, PLEASE WAIT FOR AN INVOICE PRIOR TO PAYMENT. I combine all shipping charges to the minimum necessary to get purchases to the customer. Please be aware that the USPS has recently increased postage for package shipments and Insurance - $7-$9 for shipping may look like a lot, but it barely covers my actual cost. If you have any questions, just ask.
