So Called Dollar design souvenir badge from the 1905 Lewis & Clark Exposition in Portland, OR. The closest listing in HK is 330, however more accurately SH 14-4. Plain edge, typical of pieces struck for use on badges, so approx. 35+ mm rather than the 36mm shown in Shevlin. Gold Plated (or Gilt) Bronze or Brass, struck by Meyer Brothers of Seattle. Typical metallic souvenir badge construction of the period. Complete and damage free, light scuffing however the deep mirror P/L surface is still plainly evident. While this is one of the most common SCD designs from this event NOT SO ON SUCH A BADGE. I have been a collector/dealer in World’s Fair material and So Called Dollars for many years and was located in Oregon for 30+ years not 80 miles from where the event took place – this is the first such badge I can remember seeing. From my personal reference collection of World's Fair Exonumia and So Called Dollars. Box shipped for safe delivery, hence the slightly higher S&H. 0301-04

This seller has enabled "Manual Invoice Approval" on their account. This means that after you complete checkout, you will NOT be automatically redirected to PayPal (if applicable) and will not be able to complete payment immediately. Instead, the seller will review the invoice and may, or may not, add or subtract additional charges, as explained in their policies and/or listing description. When the invoice is updated and approved by the seller, you will receive an automated email notification later, and you will be able to pay the updated invoice as you would normally.
All checks must clear prior to payment of purchase, which may take up to 12 Business days. IF YOU CHOOSE TO PURCHASE MULTIPLE ITEMS, PLEASE WAIT FOR AN INVOICE PRIOR TO PAYMENT. I combine all shipping charges to the minimum necessary to get purchases to the customer. Please be aware that the USPS has recently increased postage for package shipments and Insurance - $7-$9 for shipping may look like a lot, but it barely covers my actual cost. If you have any questions, just ask.
