Baroque Shield Dollar as per H-K, from the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco. More properly this should be called the Nebraska State Fund Dollar, as the State Seal is the design used on the Reverse. SH 18-22, Long Tail. Choice Uncirculated, certified NGC MS-63BN, tied for Pop Top in BN with three others; one each MS-63RB and MS-64RB finer so solidly in the Condition Census as well. This exact piece was the first Uncirculated HK-419 certified by NGC. I submitted it c. 2005-6, prior to Bill Weber's piece being certified in 2007/2008. As this has the original jump ring in it, it was initially certified with an "old school" NGC Photo Cert as MS-62RB, since NGC decided they were too lazy to cut out a piece of the gasket apparently. As this was in my opinion a ridiculously low grade, I resubmitted it several years later. NGC chose to call this "Brown" which in my opinion having handled any number of similar antiqued pieces is not accurate, and it should have come back "RB". Mox Nix, as they used to say. The TOTAL Uncirculated Pop is 10 in BN, 4 in RB (Feb. 2024). Sold with the original NGC Photo Cert as a bonus. Rare enough that about a dozen have been submitted for grading in circ grades. Rated R-6 in Shevlin, which might describe the overall availability, however more like R-7 as an Unc. Certainly you can't easily find one when you want one, and few are as "fresh" and original as this piece - and I have seen a fair number of them as this has been one of my "unicorns" in the HK series over the years. From my reference collection of PPIE ephemera. Valued at $575 in Svelin's price guide, worth a bit of a premium as the first Unc graded (in my opinion). I will provide a letter of conformation of this along with the old NGC cert at the buyer's request. Due to value this will require Insured shipping with Signature Confirmation, hence the S&H shown.

This seller has enabled "Manual Invoice Approval" on their account. This means that after you complete checkout, you will NOT be automatically redirected to PayPal (if applicable) and will not be able to complete payment immediately. Instead, the seller will review the invoice and may, or may not, add or subtract additional charges, as explained in their policies and/or listing description. When the invoice is updated and approved by the seller, you will receive an automated email notification later, and you will be able to pay the updated invoice as you would normally.
All checks must clear prior to payment of purchase, which may take up to 12 Business days. IF YOU CHOOSE TO PURCHASE MULTIPLE ITEMS, PLEASE WAIT FOR AN INVOICE PRIOR TO PAYMENT. I combine all shipping charges to the minimum necessary to get purchases to the customer. Please be aware that the USPS has recently increased postage for package shipments and Insurance - $7-$9 for shipping may look like a lot, but it barely covers my actual cost. If you have any questions, just ask.
