Smooth
Bronze coin (monetary copper composed of 95% Cu, 4% Sn, 1% Zn) with a tolerance of 10 thousandths for copper and 5 thousandths for tin and zinc, struck at the Brussels mint. The tolerance of the weight being 50 thousandths.
The Grand-Ducal decree of March 20, 1946 ordering the issue of this coin to replace the large modules in nickel silver and cupronickel does not specify the number of coins to be minted per year. The decree simply states that the draw must be in " accordance with the needs noted". For the year 1946, Weiller indicated a circulation of 1,000,000 copies, Probst on the other hand mentioned 4,000,000 pieces (...) Given the meticulousness of the work of Weiller, his choice was respected (pending the evidence to the contrary) for this sheet.
