Lot of 2 BU Rolls 1964 Silver Roosevelt Dimes 1 opened OBW 1 Hand Wrapped Paper Roll with Interior Foil Wrap

Listing is for two (2) BU Rolls of 1964 Roosevelt Dimes.

One roll, the light green one, is a previously opened bank wrapped roll or OBW roll, stamped Sattley Company, New York, New York. One end has a paper plug on one end which remins undisturbed; the other end was previously opened (not by us), and has been scotch tape closed. We have not removed the tape.  The second roll, the tan one, is a hand wrapped paper roll that was stamped 1964 and the interior of the paper has a foil wrapped roll of dimes. In order to maintain the integrity of the roll, we did not attempt to remove the foil roll as the paper would have surely ripped.

We weigh all silver rolls. 90% Silver coin, whether dimes, quarters or half dollars weighs 125g per $5 face value or 250g per $10 face value. The 2 dime rolls together weigh almost 251g as seen in the pictures.

Using Aluminum Foil was a common practice of the 1960s and early 1970s used by many roll collectors or hoarders believing the foil helped to keep the coins from toning and helping to maintain a fresh, original look. I will say the pigmentation on the roll itself is very bright and vibrant so the aluminum foil, being wrapped around the paper of the roll, appears to have helped preserve the paper in addition to the end of roll coins, which are a bright silver, freshly minted look.

We almost never apply the adjective Gem or Gem BU to raw coins understanding just how difficult it is to obtain those grades from the top two Third Party Grading Services. Overusing this term diminishes the value of coins truly deservant of this descriptor. It's also blatnantly false to use that term so casually and lightly.

Your bid is for both of the exact rolls pictured.
