THIS BIN CONTAINS THE FIRST LUNAR LANDING APOLLO 11 JULY 20, 1969 MEDAL. A very interesting and heavy Medal issued to celebrate the First Lunar Landing by Apollo 11 in 1969. It was designed by John Roberts and struck by Morgan's Inc. On the front side it shows the Moon rocket at take-off against the background of LEM and an astronaut on the moon's surface. Around the perimeter, the information "Apollo 11 * First Lunar Landing & below July 20th, 1969". At the base just under the astronaut is "Morgan's Inc.". On the reverse side, it has in the center the earth, below the moon and a space vehicle with the heads of 3 astronauts in space suits turned toward the names "Mercury / Gemini / Apollo". Around the rim is the legend "United States of America * In Honor of Those Who Served. It measures 2" in diameter and weighs approximately 3 3/4 ounces. It comes with it's original blue and red lined box. There is no certificate for it.
