Original BU Roll 1957-D 90% Silver Roosevelt Dimes Frosty Luster Tough Date Roll (003)

Original roll of a tougher date 1957-D BU 90% Silver Roosevelt Dimes in Brilliant Uncirculated condition housed in a soft shell plastic tube.

The 1957-D remains a "sleeper" and mostly unknown to many as to it's difficulty to find. Greysheet has the 1957-D BU Dime roll at $145 ask/$189 bid.

We almost never apply the adjective Gem or Gem BU to raw coins understanding just how difficult it is to obtain those grades from the top two Third Party Grading Services. Overusing this term diminishes the value of coins truly deservant of this descriptor.

Unfortunately there are many sellers who overuse the term, Gem, Gem BU, Original and from original roll with many using these adjectives in almost every single one of their listings on auto pilot. By applying the term Gem to all listings, the value of gem is diminished to average or below average.

Applying Gem to unopened bank wrapped rolls is laughable.  How can an unopened bank wrapped roll of coins be stamped as Gem if they have never been opened?

I would suggest to everyone to do your own homework before buying anything. You will save yourself a lot of stress and money later while enjoying the interesting educational things you learn along the way!
