Scarcely seen 1948-D Denver Issue BU Roll of Jefferson Nickels.
Most of these coins are brilliant silver with great, original mint luster.
There's a handful of naturally toned coins as well - mostly in earthy shades of ructic, darker hues. Shimmering luster and just "the look' of a truly original roll that has been undisturbed for decades.
This is a scarcely seen roll as attested by Greysheet Bid/Ask of $130/$170
Gorgeous! And... quite scarce!
We almost never apply the adjective Gem or Gem BU to raw coins understanding just how difficult it is to obtain those grades from the top two Third Party Grading Services. Overusing this term diminishes the value of coins truly deserving of this descriptor. It's also blatantly false to use that term so casually and lightly.
