Pair of 1986 Immigrant Family Commemorative Proof Half Dollars in Capsules. Hello Folks, for many months, I’ve been starting my auctions every Sunday starting at $1, and this last week (even with the decrease in silver the last few days), the silver went for 20% BELOW the melt price. Hey people; do you know how to do the math? You take the spot price of silver, and multiply that by .715, and that gives you the “times face” ratio. As of this writing that would be 20.9 x face, and it went for $17, plus I have to pay the fees to USAcoinbook. Therefore, I will simply sell my silver at the local coin shop, because he at least pays 20x face. Best wishes on your collecting!
