i have no idea what makes the 'monkey ear.'

the date andf most of '10 CENTS' were struck through grease. the date didn't make any impression and the third pic is a close up of what is left of 10 CENTS.

there is only one doubled die obverse dime for the George VI series, as per the coinsandcanada.com site.
