Nice legitimate United States Mint silver ingot from San Francisco Mint. 6.04 OZs.., 999.75 Fine, Bar No. 989. The bar has what appear to be layers and in addition to the patent markings, also faint number imprints in various places including edge, face and reverse. It appears to be the aggregate of a number of pours with possible punch strikes applied over newly aggregated silver. You can readily see the layering from the edges. It has a Type I oval hallmark of the United States Mint At San Francisco, the 9's have a curled tail. On the reverse to the right of the weight markj"6.04" appears a faint "Z" from having been previously struck. The reverse has a combination of font sizes. The combination of its various individual characteristics may be unique.
