The bank logo is also found at the center of this design field, but the inscriptions around it are different. This side offers inscriptions of 5 Troy Ounces 999 Fine Silver. This phrase repeats several times around the design element.
History
Scotiabank was founded in Halifax, Nova Scotia, in 1832. Now one of Canadas Big Five banks, Scotiabanks operational headquarters is no longer located in Halifax. In fact, among Canadas big five, only Toronto-Dominion Bank and the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce are located in the cities in which they were legally incorporated. The other three have all moved since initial incorporation. In 2020 Scotiabank closed it's Metals trading desk at the COMEX.
