What this coin looks like (obverse, reverse, mint mark location, special features, etc.):
1794 Liberty Hap Half Cent Penny - High Relief

One major variety of the 1794 Liberty Cap Half Cent (Penny) is the High Relief type. This coin can be identified by the higher relief of the liberty head on the obverse of the coin. High relief coins are struck much deeper and harder - meaning the hair and other features stand up or stick out of the coin much more than the low relief varieties. The denticles that encircle the rim of the coin are larger and thicker as well as more numerous than the low relief variety. The difference between the Normal Head (Low Relief) vs High Relief is depicted below in the example comparison image of the coins.
