One major variety is the 1890-CC Morgan Silver Dollar featuring the "Tail Bar" on the reverse of the coin (sometimes known as the VAM-4 variety). The Tailbar is a feature that resulted from a large scratch or cut on the die. It can be identified by noticing a large bar extending from the left-most eagle feather to the wreath as depicted below in the example closeup image:
