There were two major varieties that dealt with the size of the 1835 date on the obverse of the Capped Bust Half Dime and two major varieties that dealt with the size of the "5 C." on the reverse of the coin. This made up 4 different available combinations of varieties. It is fairly easily to differentiate the varieties:
