Outside of my family, coin and currency collecting are the love of my life. And, the part I love the most is the hunt so sales have to go forward to make room for new. I travel to national shows numerous times a year to buy, trade and sell. For 20 some years I concentrated my collecting on errors and varieties but I find it a niche market and difficult to break into outside of eBay so I sent most of my collection to Heritage and Great Collections and I now concentrate on18th, 19th and early 20th century copper, silver and currency.
I have been buying and selling on eBay for about twenty-five years under a couple different accounts. But, it has become difficult to break even there as they nickel and dime us to death with their fees. They charge you a percentage of shipping which I believe is wrong. Although some may gouge, most of us do not. And, $2 for a payout. Why? I was getting an immediate payout until I discovered this fee. What triggered this discovery was a $3.50 sale that I cleared $1.15 for.
I do hope this is a viable alternative. I will be advertising for USA Coin Book and try to make it work.
