What this coin looks like (obverse, reverse, mint mark location, special features, etc.):
This variety of the 1809 Classic Head Half Cent (Penny) features an 1809 date struck over an inverted 1809 date. This overdate error is known as 1809/9 or also commonly known as 1809/6 as the inverted "9" looks like a "6". This is depicted above in the example image of the coin. Note that portion of the underlying inverted "9" is seen within the overlying "9" and to the outside of the lower-right side of the "9" as well as depicted by the arrows.
